George Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia, supports Morocco in organizing the 2025 Africa Cup of Nation.
Weah revealed, in an official communiqué to the Liberian presidency, that he supports the Moroccan file for the “Kan 2025” organization, categorically denying that he is loyal to the Algerian file, as stated in media reports.
In the equal communication, Weah said: “Liberia absolutely endorses and helps Morocco’s bid to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. I even have made this dedication to King Mohammed VI. It is the cornerstone.”
He added, "Morocco has invested nicely in soccer and is surely growing the sport at the African continent, which makes it worth of an possibility to host the employer of this event."
Weah stressed that Africa is proud of what the Moroccan national team achieved in the World Cup finals by reaching the semi-finals, highlighting that granting the honor of organizing this edition of the African Cup to Morocco is a tribute to it.
