Alvarez confirmed that Real Madrid had already received an offer from Al-Nassr to sign Modric.

He explained that the Saudi team made Modric an offer that includes a two-season contract, with the Croatian star receiving 40 million euros.

And the Saudi Al-Youm newspaper had sparked a resounding surprise in the transfer market, announcing yesterday, Monday, that the Saudi victory had signed Modric.

  • Al-Midan Al-Riyadh, the sports section of the Saudi newspaper Al-Youm, quoted private sources as saying that Modric had already signed for Al-Nassr and that the deal would be announced very soon.

  • The source did not reveal a specific date for Modric, 37, to join Al Nasr, and if the deal will take place during the current winter transfer market or after the end of the current season.

  • Modric's current contract with Real Madrid expires on June 30, which means that any club has the right to negotiate with him without Real Madrid's approval, as the Croatian star entered the free period in his contract on January 1.
