Barcelona's Spanish football administration has qualified Moroccan defender Chadi Riyad to participate with the team in the "European League" championship.
According to the Spanish “Barca Blaugrana” website, the Barcelona administration decided to include Riyad’s name in the final list to participate in the “European League” championship this season, after the retirement of Spanish defender Gerard Pique and the transfer of Dutch players Memphis Depay and Spaniard Hector Bellerin in the recent winter transfers.

The same source confirmed that the officials of the Catalan team decided to give the opportunity to some of the brilliant young players in the reserve team, including the Moroccan defender, in order to gain more experience in European competitions. It is an approach that is in line with the strategy of President Juan Laporta and coach Xavi in the coming years.
Xavi expressed, in previous press statements, his admiration for Riyad's qualifications, and said that he showed great potential in training, and that he is the future player in Barcelona, especially since he is young and does not exceed 19 years.
And the “Blaugrana” administration announced, on the fifth of last July, officially the renewal of the contract of Moroccan player Chadi Riyad for two additional seasons, with the possibility of extending it for a third season.
